UPTOWN BRASS in concert
Forget the Bach, Let's ROCK!
The Dragonslayers of Brass return to the West End Theatre for one night only. Uptown Brass, formerly known as the Susanville Symphony Brass Quintet will feature the normal lineup of two trumpets, french horn, trombone and tuba.
The ecclectic group consists of Craig Harris (trumpet player by night and Nazarene Church Youth Pastor by day, Lori Braatz delivers babies and saves the world in her real job as a delivery nurse at Banner Lassen Hospital, Matt Mullin, the Tuba player is a retired assistant warden at CCC and a loan officer at Axia home loans. Bill Bunker is a retired Hydropower Executive who teaches at Chico State University and plays trombone around the North State.
Ben Wade is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Susanville Symphony. Now in it's 16th season, Wade formed the orchestra from the ground up and has been the Maeateo ever since. Formerly voted as one of the best trumpet players in the world by the International Trumpet Guild, you may recognize the name as a former castaway from the hit CBS show Survivor.
"We are excited to perform for the people of Quincy!" says Ben Wade. "There will be something for everyone in this concert. It will be vibrant, exciting and cultural at the same time."
