AUDITION INFORMATION
This is an ensemble piece which means there are no “leads” all parts have equal importance. This show is about dating and relationships and so I will be casting an equal number of women and men. Everyone will sing and most will play more than one character. All parts are played by adults including the “kids”
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
STAN: A business man, too involved in business to take time dating PAT: A business woman the female version of STAN JASON: A gawky young man longing to be a STUD JULIE: A gawky young woman longing to be a BABE BOB 1: overly verbose and boring business man into monster trucks VERONICA: looking for Mr. RIGHT in a sea of BOBS BOB 2: See BOB 1 he is into golf. BETTY: VERONICA’S BFF also looking. JAMES: A man who unwittingly reveals a soft side. JANE: A woman who loves “chic flics” and the men who cry at them. DIANE: Athletic and smart. She takes the lead CHUCK: A slow and unsure of the ways of modern dating. DAD: A Father longing for his son to get married and move out. MOM: A Mother longing for her son to get married and have kids. MITCH: The epitome of a “boomerang” child, happy to live off Mom & Dad KAREN: The epitome of a young career girl with no time for marriage. Man: Thinks he is a STUD, but turns out he’s a DUD Woman: Unfulfilled. SPOKESPERSON: Typical TV infomercial spokesman. JANE: A woman shocked and disgusted by the ways of the electronic world. PETER: A man who obviously thinks his name says it all. MARY: Jane’s BFF WILLY: A man who accidently sends a pic of his namesake to his Mother. MRS. WHITEWOOD: Moderator of the “interfaith program for singles over 30" TRENTELL: Serving a Life Sentence in High Desert State Prison Susanville BRAD: Well over 30 desperately seeking the one SUSAN: A female Brad BRIDE: Typically nervous GROOM: Shaky as well CLERGYMAN: Happy to officiate CLERGYWOMAN: ditto above BRIDESMAID: Sings Country western. Happy not to be married. FRANK 1 Gay parent caught up in baby time. FRANK 2 Gay parent Frank 1’s partner slightly less hooked on baby but hooked. |
