Our Costume and Prop Warehouse burned on July, 29
Earl and Edie have been the caretakers of a collection of costumes 30 years in the making and the loss of our costume and prop room indeed, hits us hard. So many volunteers and members of our community contributed to this wonderful collection. From the Von Trapp Family uniforms to Harold Hill’s band uniforms, from Munchkinland marvels to The Kit Kat Klub’s finery, and from Little Orphan Annie’s attire to the King of Siam’s regalia, we had it all!. Costuming is an art form in and of itself, and plays an integral part of the visual component of any production that helps bring stories to life! Over the years, our costumes have been used by Feather River College, Quincy High School, Indian Valley Academy, Pachuca Productions, Quincy Star Follies, among many other local groups, and we loved having this resource to share with our community.
While costumes and props can be replaced, our hearts and thoughts go out to Tom and Hannah who, in the last couple years, built their amazing business; to the Crisis Center whose services to our community are invaluable; and to our neighbors who lost their homes. We take great relief in knowing that no one was hurt and are eternally grateful to our firefighters for their quick and selfless response to the situation.
